January Picks

Sundance Film Festival, Park City Utah, January 19th- 29th

This uber-cool film festival takes place annually in Park City, Utah. With 46,660 attendees in 2016, it is the largest independent film festival in the United States!


Screen Actors Guild Awards, Los Angeles, CA, January 29th

The SAG awards in LA acknowledge outstanding performances in film and primetime television. This red carpet event rewards some the best performances from big names to artists who perhaps lesser known but ones to watch.

The Oscars, Los Angeles, CA, February 26th
The nominations have been announced and after the awards faced much criticism due to lack of diversity last year, there was much anticipation to see if the iconic awards ceremony had once again overlooked actors and actresses of color and films that portrayed non-white narratives. Thankfully the 2017 Oscars showcases a good amount of diversity and it is also already making headlines with the staggering 14 nominations for the musical La La Land.

The Tribeca Film Festival was first launched after 9/11 with the intention to promote the cultural and economic revival of Lower Manhattan. It is a wonderful platform for innovative and upcoming filmmakers to showcase their work.


Masters Golf Tournament, Augusta USA 3rd – 9th April
Some of the best golfers in the world will compete on one of the best courses in the world for that iconic green jacket! Augusta is also full of history and attractions to keep travelers busy when they aren’t watching on the green sidelines.

Wimbledon, London, 3rd- 16th July
The All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club hosts this annual event that attracts tennis fans and celebrities from all over. It is the oldest tennis tournament in the world and is one of the four grand slam tennis tournaments across the world but the only one played on grass.
