British Airways have released advanced copies of a new star-studded safety video featuring a host of British actors, comedians and celebrities.
The new film is slated to debut on BA flights starting in September and features some of the UK’s most beloved personalities giving passengers flight and safety information. They will also spread awareness of ‘Flying Start’, the worldwide charity partnership between British Airways and the long-running UK charity Comic Relief.
Alex Cruz, British Airways’ chairman and CEO, said: “It’s extremely important to us that customers engage with our safety video, and involving some of the nation’s most well-known personalities has given us the chance to create something fun that we hope people will watch from start to finish - and remember”. BA hopes to raise £20 Million by 2020 for its causes with the aid of initiatives like this.
British Airways began their partnership with Comic Relief in 2010, and since then they have raised £16 million together to promote ‘a just world, free from poverty-where everyone is safe, healthy, educated and empowered’.
The stars involved include Chef Gordon Ramsay of Kitchen Nightmares fame, Sir Ian McKellen who played Gandalf in The Lord of the Rings and Magneto in the X Men films. Alongside them are Mr. Bean star Rowan Atkinson, Thandie Newton from Westworld and Gillian Anderson of The X Files amongst many other familiar faces.
